On Sunday 6th June, a group of volunteers spent their mornings taking part in a large-scale litter pick at Rivacre Valley, clearing a significant amount of rubbish from the pathways and brook.
The pick was organised by the Friends of Rivacre Valley as part of the Great British Spring Clean campaign from Keep Britain Tidy. The StreetCare team at CWaC Council provided litter pickers and waste sacks for the occasion.
19 volunteers showed up and, despite us thinking the Reserve was looking mostly clean beforehand, we successfully collected 17 large bags' worth of rubbish between us!
Many thanks to everybody who showed up to make a real difference and demonstrated brilliant community spirit.
